Our Rich History: Four Generations of Excellence:
The Redmon Insurance Agency story began in 1945 when Gant Redmon, after working at the East Saint Louis stockyards, started selling insurance in the evenings from his home in Collinsville. Through his commitment to excellent service, long working hours, and an honest, direct approach, he quickly built a thriving business.
The tradition of excellence continued when Bogie Redmon, a University of Illinois graduate and celebrated athlete, joined his father in the family business in 1965. Beyond his business acumen, Bogie was known throughout the community as “a warm, kind, lovable human being and friend to all” who made everyone “feel welcomed” and was beloved by clients and community members alike.
Today, under the leadership of third-generation owner Kai Redmon, the agency continues to build on this strong foundation. Kai brought impressive credentials to the family business in 2005, including a bachelor’s degree in business, master’s degrees in both safety and health and business administration (MBA), along with over fifteen years of senior-level management experience.
The Fourth Generation & Beyond:
As we move forward we reflect on a legacy spanning three generations that began in 1945; providing professional insurance services to valued friends and clients in the communities we serve, based on a simple foundation of “Honesty, Integrity & Service”.
We are now poised to welcome Lawson Redmon as the fourth generation in our family -based agency, while at the same time charting a course for continued growth and expansion…while always remaining committed to those simple yet vital values of superior service and providing professional insurance services. The future of the insurance industry (like so many others) is ever changing, and we have and will continue to embrace and integrate value-added change in an effort to balance “old school” core traditions (that seem to be forgotten…yet desperately desired by so many) with industry-leading efficiency utilizing both valued and professional team members matched with systems designed to maximize productive and sustained growth…all to ensure long-term proactive sustainability as we embark on a continued path of growth in 2026 and beyond.
While continuing to grow locally with our three office locations in Collinsville, Edwardsville and Godfrey, we will embark on regional growth initiatives that mirror our core cultural values and professionalism in all that we do. Profitable growth will then allow us to secure additional partnered insurance providers…all with the intent to offer more options to both current and prospective clients.
It has been an amazing journey since 1945, as we deeply appreciate and value each and every person who has been a client, entertained quotes or supported our agency in any way.
